Farallon Insulated Shirt

The Insulated Farallon shirt is constructed from the same ‘Masters of Bishu’ regenerated wool woven fabric as our plaid version, employing the same traditional methods by the textile craftspeople of Aichi prefecture. The shirt has a looser, boxier fit and hexagon quilted lining, inside phone pocket, brushed snaps and the coveted Bishu label of authenticity. The thistle-brushed wool is noticeably softer than any other wool shirt on the market. Add this to your cool weather quiver.

Size: XS-XL

Weight: 750g / 1lb 10oz for a size medium.

Fit: Relaxed, over shirt fit. This is looser and more boxy than the slim fitting Farallon Shirt. Consider this more of a jacket style. XS can be considered women's S/M. Men's Sizing is true to size, over shirt fit.

Great piece, not perfect.

I really like this jacket, but had to deduct 1 star. I’ll start with the great: Materials and build quality are 5/5 stars. Love. The woven wool is about as good as it gets… soft, warm, durable, and looks great. Fit is also just right. I’m 5’11’’, 180 and size L fits just like I was hoping. Flattering drape, with enough room to layer a cozy sweater underneath. Now the not great—2 minor flaws. 1) the pockets are on top of the insulation, which should NEVER be the case in a jacket. Hands need to stay warm too. 2) the collar is on the flimsy side which means it struggles to stand up on its own when you want to keep your neck warm.

I am a big fan of Beringia Farallon shirts. I own a regular one and love it so when they launched the insulated one, I went for it. I wear it all the time. Skiing, going to work, in my cabin. An essential piece of gear to my adventurous life. High quality, elegant, warm, sustainable. Highly recommended.

Great shirt jacket for cold weather

Love this shirt jacket. It’s super high quality, fits well, stylish, and roomy enough to layer a hoodie underneath. Overall very happy with the purchase. Only criticism is the collar is a bit flimsy… should be thicker fabric to support standing up on its own during chilly outings.
