Favorite Jacket Of All Time

This is by far the warmest, lightest, and comfiest coat I've ever owned. It is well-designed and has held up to daily wear and tear through two seasons so far (it still looks and feels practically new), and I imagine it will continue for many seasons to come. It has become my go-to jacket every winter day in Montana.

A Must Have For Montana Winters!

I bought this coat to have in my closet to be reserved for the coldest of ski days. Here we are in mid-January 2024 and we’re seeing minus 40 in Bozeman and the coat is already getting one heck of a work out! Comfortable, very warm and extremely well made, this coat is also great to have in the truck as part of my kit for long winter drives in Montana.

Bering Down Jacket

I live in the RMNP, lots of dog walking, hiking, and rock scrambling. This jacket is super warm, lightweight, comfortable, nice deep pockets. The one critique what be the zipper. The zipper has sometimes gotten stuck, and if I’m on a -20F hike somewhere in the mountains I don’t want to deal with this. Thus 4 stars. Otherwise absolutely excellent!

Best in class cold weather down jacket

Every time I wear this great piece of kit I think about expressing my satisfaction by writing a review, each time I forget by the time I get home from a day skiing or a long walk with my GSD! This is my 2nd season wearing it as my go to jacket on -5°C and colder days, most of the things I like best about it have been covered in previous reviews but there a a few things that are worth adding to.

It still looks and feels like new in spite of many days tree skiing and high mountain tours, getting stuffed in a backpack, and getting pawed by certain friends' less well behaved dogs, It's the ultimate defence against extreme cold, high winds, and even getting soaked, one of the main faults of other down articles. Besides offering incredible mobility and being very light and easy to layer under, there are a few clever design details I really love, such as the perfectly shaped hood whose sole drawstring tightens at the neck and around the head separately, the internal cuffs, and the double side pocket zippers opening onto the huge pockets. The inner lining is very comfortable, the fit superb, the look is very stylish without the dreaded Michelin Man effect, and despite the massive loft it's extremely packable. All in all the perfect solution for cold days, low or high activity, or for stuffing in a pack for emergencies. Highly recommended for anyone who takes performance in cold weather seriously.

Favorite jacket of all time

This is by far the warmest, lightest, and comfiest coat I've ever owned. It is well-designed and has held up to daily wear and tear through two seasons so far (it still looks and feels practically new), and I imagine it will continue for many seasons to come. It has become my go-to jacket every winter day in Montana, and especially on the coldest days. It is warm, light, and functional with big outer pockets (my wallet, gloves & beanie often live in it) and one inner mesh pocket for smaller essentials. It's the perfect jacket for both daily winter wear and cold days on the ski hill.

Best down jacket out there, look no further

Not only cool and unique looking, this is by far the warmest down jacket I have ever owned. This is a pure winter jacket and the quality is extremely high. It is a bit like wearing a zero degree sleeping bag while being active. Living in Tahoe area for the past 30 years, I've dabbled with many different puffys. The Bering down jacket is by far the best. Warning: It can actually be too warm. It is not made for hiking or skiing on a sunny April day.
